Monique Fincannon is a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner who lives in Palm Springs, California. She works at a residential treatment facility that treats substance use disorders and mood disorders in partial and intensive outpatient programs. She provides medication-assisted behavioral health medication management, treats on-site crisis stabilization, and mentors nurses and fellow nurse practitioners. Before that role, she held a variety of positions in inpatient hospitalization, substance use clinics, and partial and intensive outpatient programming, where she treated individual patients.

She is a full-time assistant professor at Regis College, teaching Primary Care of the Psychiatric Mental Health Client I and II and Advanced Psychopharmacology. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at Maryville University in 2008 and her Master of Science degree in 2014 from Saint Louis University. She holds a national certification with the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She precepts students who are in their PMHNP clinical rotations.

Professor Fincannon’s interests include walking half marathons, hiking through the desert, and cycling to honor those fighting or recovering from cancer and promote mental health awareness.
