Dr. Jessica Landry is an Associate Professor of Nursing and Director of the Family Nurse Practitioner online program. She graduated with an MSN as an FNP in 2004 and DNP in 2014. She has been in nursing academia for more than a decade and is the recipient of many accolades, including AANP Advocate in Nursing Excellence of the Year, Louisianan of the year, Gay Lesbian Medical Association Achievement Award, Health Care Hero of New Orleans, Louisiana Senate Resolution for Service to Vulnerable Louisiana Residents, and more.

Her research article on Delivering Culturally Sensitive Care to LGBTQAI+ patients received NLN’s research article of the year in 2021. She has organized multiple trips to Peru with nursing and NP students to care for the indigenous people in the Andes. During her career, Dr. Landry has been awarded over $6 million in grants that serve vulnerable people, such as Scholarships for Disadvantaged Students, Advancing the NP Workforce in Rural Communities, and Expanding Nursing Education to Improve the Number of Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) nurses in Louisiana.
