Helen P. Fox-McCloy has been a pediatric nurse practitioner for more than 30 years and has practiced in maternal child health for all of her nursing career. She has worked both acute and primary care as a PNP in the U.S. and overseas.

She received her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Walden University and her master’s and bachelor’s degrees in nursing from Catholic University. She completed her doctorate while living overseas, an experience that quickly showed her how access to health information required the constant use of technology. That interest led to her doctoral study exploring patients’ understanding and barriers to utilizing the patient portal.

She started with Regis College as an adjunct instructor in 2018. Her passion for pediatrics and teaching is why she enjoys her role. Student engagement and instructor presence are the core of her teaching philosophy.

She continues to practice in Central Florida in addition to performing her teaching responsibilities.
