Dr. Edmund Travers started his healthcare career as a paramedic in 1980. He then transitioned into his nursing career in 1993. He initially earned an associate degree in nursing and worked in emergency services and telemetry. He then completed a bachelor’s degree and worked in the emergency department on a part-time basis, while writing a paramedic curriculum for a community college and became the director of that program, where he stayed till 2003.

From there, Dr. Travers moved into roles as an administrative nursing supervisor, director of telemetry and ICU. After earning his master’s degree in nursing administration, he moved into a position as the manager of a high-volume emergency department, and then took over a director position in another high-volume emergency department.

To further his goal of helping people in his community get the right health care, he took a position as an associate vice president of nursing and patient care services in a clinic system with over 65,000 patients and ten clinics. While in this position, he began working as an adjunct professor in the graduate department at Regis. He also enrolled in the Doctor of Nursing Practice at Regis. In 2017 he came to Regis full-time in the graduate program, after completing his doctorate. In 2019, he became the director of the DNP Program. In 2022 he transitioned into the online DNP program and remains in that position today.
