ABA Post-Master’s Certificate
The post master’s certificate in applied behavior analysis (ABA) is a 21-credit, ABAI-verified course sequence designed for professionals who already hold a master’s degree in ABA, Education or Psychology and wish to become a board certified behavior analyst (BCBA®).
1Applicants with any master’s degree that falls outside a master’s in ABA, psychology, or education, (even minor deviations like MS in Counseling Psychology or MA in Educational Leadership) must provide written confirmation from the BACB that their degree will be considered acceptable. Applicants will need to complete a field of study evaluation by the BACB prior to applying to or matriculating in the certificate program.
The ABA certificate curriculum at Regis College was designed for students to learn the fundamentals and specialize in applied behavior analysis. Focus is placed on applied coursework, practical experience, and post-graduation certification.Curriculum
Many behavior analysts are employed by residential and outpatient treatment facilities, schools, child care centers, and hospitals. They help parents, teachers, and school administrators analyze behavior, develop behavior plans, and train parents and staff to implement the plans.Careers
Regis College is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (formerly the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Inc.)
The Association for Behavior Analysis International has verified the following courses toward the coursework requirements for eligibility to take the Board Certified Behavior Analyst® or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst® examination. Applicants will need to meet additional requirements before they can be deemed eligible to take the examination.
Behavior Analysts are in demand
Demand for BCBA/BCBA-D® certified professionals increased by approximately 800% from 2010 to 2017, with increases seen in nearly every state.* Most recently, the federal government signed the Autism Care Act in 2019**, which includes $1.8 billion in funding. The influx of new attention and funding will likely increase research efforts and support through ABA treatment and services.
Regis Autism Center
The Regis College campus is home to the Autism Center that works in collaboration with the Regis Children’s Center. The Regis Autism Center provides Applied Behavior Analysis services for young children focused on integration with their peers in the Children’s Center. All behavior therapists working at the Autism Center are current graduate students in the Master’s of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis program.
