William Koehler, PhD
Dean, Marshall M. Sloane School of Business & Communication
Dean Koehler joined Regis College in July 2018 as inaugural Dean of the School of Business & Communication. His research and professional interests include various aspects of entrepreneurship, and he has consulted with numerous domestic and international startup enterprises. His teaching interests include marketing, entrepreneurship, nonprofit management and business strategy, and he has also taught in Germany, Kazakhstan and India. William is particularly interested in exploring strategies to promote urban, minority and social entrepreneurship.
Prior to joining Regis College, Dean Koehler served as Dean of the School of Management and Chair of the Business and Information Technology Departments at Bay State College; as Assistant Dean of Graduate and International Programs for the College of Management, University of Massachusetts-Boston; as founder and COO of Peirian Education, Boston; and as co-founder and COO of Marathon Personnel, Boston. He recently cofounded Urbanability, a 501(c)3 nonprofit urban consultancy that implements economic development, urban greening and transportation solutions for Boston’s underrepresented communities, and serves as its Treasurer and Senior Advisor for Business and Strategy.
Dean Koehler holds a BA in History from Franklin & Marshall College and earned a Master’s in Women’s Studies and Ph.D. in Labor History from Brandeis University. He has also studied at the University of Chicago, Boston University, and the University of Bonn, Germany.
