Megan Hawk is a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner who lives in Northeastern Ohio. She is currently the program director of the online PMHNP program. She is a full-time assistant professor, and she primarily teaches Primary Care of the Psychiatric Mental Health Client I and II, although her favorite course to teach is Advanced Psychopharmacology. She completed her Associate Degree of Nursing from Kent State University in 2007, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Kent State University in 2011, and her master’s degree from the University of Cincinnati in 2013. She holds national certification with the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Nursing Practice through Regis College. In addition to her current duties, she has also spent time precepting PMHNP students and volunteering with the Red Cross of Northeastern Ohio by providing disaster mental health counseling to those impacted by disasters in her area. She worked in an outpatient clinic for eight years, providing medication management and medication-assisted treatment to the patients she served, and has written continuing education courses at various points in her career.
