Dr. Daphne Weeks has been in the healthcare industry for 23 years and in professional nursing for 9 years. She graduated with an Associate of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the State College of Florida. She went on to Regis College and obtained a Master of Science in Nursing following the Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner track and also a Doctor of Nursing Practice.

Dr. Weeks’ experience as a registered nurse is broad as she worked in acute care settings in progressive care and intermediate intensive care units focusing on physical trauma, orthopedic and neurological care. She also worked in crisis stabilization units along with inpatient psychiatric units. Becoming a nurse practitioner led her into the community with a focus on severe and persistent mental illness—mainly schizophrenia and bipolar disorders. While her focus delves into all diagnoses, she maintains expertise in this specific community across the lifespan.

Dr. Weeks collaborates with companies such as Johnson and Johnson to help educate clinicians while also acting as a key opinion leader for necessary research related to schizophrenia. She is a mentor and advocate for at-risk youth seeking a profession in nursing. She remains dedicated to educating students that seek ways to implement research into practice.
