Dr. Terrence Taylor, DNP, ACNP-BC

Dr. Terrence Taylor has been in healthcare for over 27 years, starting his nursing career as an intensive care unit (ICU) nurse at an academic teaching hospital recognized as a level one trauma center. He cared for patients in the medical, surgical trauma, and cardiovascular intensive care unit. He then went on to work in the emergency department at the same facility, during the same time he worked as a critical care flight nurse – paramedic, before transitioning to a hospital administrator role prior to becoming an acute care nurse practitioner. As an acute care nurse practitioner, he worked as a solo nocturnist intensivist with a private pulmonary and critical care physician group, prior to starting the first mobile urgent care on-demand in the Dallas, Ft. Worth area. Although, Dr. Taylor is a full-time professor and program director of the Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program (AG-ACNP) here at Regis College, he continues to practice part-time as a critical care intensivist and is the current chief executive officer (CEO) of an outpatient Internal Medicine clinic with a subspecialty focus in HIV care in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area.
Dr. Taylor has worked as a consultant as a subject matter expert and exam content item writer for ANCC and is a member of the American Nursing Association (ANA), American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCM). Dr. Taylor is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. He is also currently credentialed as an HIV specialist and an active member of the American Academy of HIV Medicine. Dr. Taylor’s scholarly work focuses on “Quality Improvement and Patient Safety”.
