You’ll cover topics that include concepts and principles of ABA, treatment evaluations, and behavior assessments. We combine research and hands-on experience to educate students starting out and those seeking advancement in the field.

Applied Behavior Analysis Program Options

The master’s program is for students from a wide variety of backgrounds with a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

In addition to our master’s program, we offer a certificate option to help you achieve your professional aspirations.

Online Master of Applied Behavior Analysis

The Master of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis includes 39 credit hours that can be completed in as few as 20 months. Students must meet additional requirements to become eligible for the Board Certified Behavior Analyst® (BCBA®) exam.

Post-Master’s Applied Behavior Analysis Certificate

This certificate is for professionals who have already earned their graduate degree. It requires the completion of seven courses. ¹Students may elect to take two practicum courses in conjunction with 1,500 to 2,000 hours of supervised independent fieldwork. Certificate students are eligible to sit for the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) exam.

1ABA 640 Concepts and Principles I Intro to ABA, ABA 642 Concepts and Principles II Experimental ABA, ABA 644 Treatment Evaluation, ABA 652 Behavior Assessment, ABA 654 Behavior Intervention, ABA 656 Ethical Practice in ABA, and ABA 662 ABA Training and Supervision. These are the only courses required for BACB certification seeking applicants.

  1. Explain the causes of behavior from assessment of behavior to intervention in both scientific and layman’s terms.
  2. Create effective measurement procedures for culturally sensitive behavioral targets.
  3. Conduct a variety of indirect assessments, skills assessments, and functional behavioral assessments and interpret the results.
  4. Design effective, empirically validated programs based on assessment results.
  5. Interpret visual displays of data across a variety of single-subject designs.
  6. Train caregivers, including staff and parents, to implement culturally sensitive, empirically validated interventions.
  7. Supervise behavior analytic interventions.
  8. Demonstrate ethical and culturally competent treatment of all individuals.
  9. Provide comprehensive care using multidisciplinary collaboration.

Regis College’s School of Health Sciences is proud to offer our programs in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), including the Master of Science in ABA and Certificate in ABA, our comprehensive, high-quality educational ABA programs housed within the Department of Applied Behavior Analysis. Through a combination of coursework and supervised fieldwork experience, the ABA programs equip students with the knowledge and experience needed to become competent, professional clinicians proficient in the research and practice of ABA. The Regis College campus is home to the Autism Center which works in collaboration with the Regis Children’s Center. The Regis Autism Center provides young children with applied behavior analysis services that are focused on helping them integrate with their peers in the Children’s Center. All behavior therapists working at the Autism Center are current graduate students in either the online or on-campus Master of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis program.

ABA Podcast: Leading Perspectives from Regis Faculty

If you are interested in learning more about ABA, check out the ABA Inside Track podcast (also available on most streaming platforms). It is co-hosted by the Regis on-campus applied behavior analysis program director and assistant professor Jacquelyn MacDonald and Regis faculty member Dr. Diana Parry-Cruwys.   • Currently, the BACB® requires transcript evaluations from Foundation for International Services (FIS) for international credentials. Please note, all final decisions regarding exam eligibility ultimately belong to the BACB®.
